What are some important ways that colleges can support nontraditional students?

Many colleges and universities increasingly support the needs of nontraditional students by extending student services beyond business hours, providing adequate and close parking for those students who rush from work to school, and offering affordable on-campus child care for full- and part-time students, including evening students. Some also offer orientation programs for adult learners to provide information about support resources as well as help nontraditional students connect with one another and begin to build a social support network of peers.
