Nicholas ordered 500 Christmas trees from North Pole Tree Farm to be delivered on November 14. When the trees arrive, the North Pole must accept tender of payment by any means or in any manner current, such as a check, in the ordinary course of business unless North Pole demands cash and allows Nicholas a reasonable time within which to obtain it.

Under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), when goods are delivered, the seller must accept any form of payment that is ordinary in the course of business unless they specifically demand cash and give the buyer reasonable time to procure it. This means North Pole Tree Farm must accept a check from Nicholas if that is a common method of payment, unless they have previously stipulated a cash-only requirement and provided Nicholas with enough time to comply with such a requirement.
