Explain why group cohesiveness a good thing in today's workplace and share how it creates potential problems.

Group cohesion is good to a point. Early in the group development process, cohesiveness helps create a productive "we feeling" among people who are trying to agree on power and authority relationships. Later in the group development cycle, a task group may be victimized by groupthink because everyone gets along so well and likes one another so much that group members cease being critical evaluators and do not listen to outside input.
