Men are more likely to be color blind than are women.

This is because the genes responsible for color perception are located on the X chromosome. As men only have one X chromosome, if they inherit a color blindness gene on that chromosome, they will be color blind. Women, on the other hand, have two X chromosomes, so they are less likely to be color blind as they would need to inherit two color blindness genes (one on each X chromosome) to be color blind.
