Social psychologists devote primary attention to the role of the social context or situational factors in understanding and explaining the complexities of human social behavior; as a result,taking into account other relevant perspectives is deemed ineffective and unnecessary.

Social psychologists do recognize the importance of other perspectives such as individual differences and biological factors in understanding human behavior. However, they believe that the social context or situational factors play a significant role in influencing behavior as well. Therefore, taking a broad interdisciplinary approach is often recommended in social psychology research.
