What does uncertainty have to do with a manager's understanding of diversity?

Individual managers and employees deal with uncertainty in different ways. This can be particularly challenging for team members who require order, are concrete thinkers, or who lack self-confidence. As highly effective managers have realized, people can learn to improve their tolerance for uncertainty, however, the most productive work groups are made up of individuals with varying comfort levels.
