The NIAAA has established drinking limits that, with various caveats, serve to help people make sure that they are not putting themselves at risk for alcohol abuse.(Various groups, including pregnant women and recovering alcoholics, should not drink at all. )For men,the guidelines are to drink no more than 4 drinks on any single day and not more than 14 dinks per week.(A drink is defined as a beverage that contains 0.6 ounce of pure alcohol. )For women, the guidelines are to drink no more than 3 drinks on any single day and no more than 7 drinks per week.
