Although the case says that Patrick had friends and social skills he probably had trouble developing a secure attachment style because of the relationship he had with his father.He appears to feel insecure about his father's love as evidenced by his concern over not being able to live up to his father's expectations.Instead, this problematic attachment to his father was demonstrative of an avoidant attachment because he was unwilling to share his feelings with others.However, it seems that he was able to heal these attachment problems and develop secure relationships as an adult.
