If you don't yet have the credibility that comes from being an expert or being powerful, you can build credibility through the use of appropriate language and strategy. First, you should be factual and avoid exaggeration. For instance, facts about a test or trial of a product are more convincing than opinions about untested things. Second, you should be specific. For example, you should show the audience exactly where the savings or benefits come from so that it is clear that the proposal really is as good as you say it is. Third, you should be reliable. If you suspect that a project will take longer to complete, cost more money, or be less effective than you originally thought, it is best to tell the audience immediately.
