Mindful eating, similar to intuitive eating, is an approach to eating that encourages individuals to be aware of the preparation and consumption of foods and beverages. Mindful eating permits individuals to be more attentive to feelings of hunger and fullness and can help bring a balanced approach to eating. While mindful eating is not always an effective strategy for weight loss, eating slowly has been shown to help maximize satiation and reduce kilocalorie intake within meals.
