Describe crowdspeaking and how it is used.

On Jul 11, 2024

Companies,non-profits,musicians,authors,and others can use crowdspeaking to "boost a signal." Crowdspeaking services such as Thunderclap and HeadTalker work in much the same manner as Kickstarter and other crowdfunding sites.Someone with a message to spread sets a campaign goal, such as recruiting 100 supporters to help share the message. If that goal is reached, the message is "triggered" and automatically sent to all the followers in all those supporters' social networks.By taking advantage of the social reach of their supporters, communicators can reach hundreds or thousands of times as many people as they could on their own.

What is diversity,as applied to a team? Describe various forms diversity can take.

On May 11, 2024

Diversity, as applied to a team, refers to the range of differences and similarities among team members. This can include differences in race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic background, education, and more. It also encompasses differences in perspectives, experiences, and skills.

Various forms diversity can take include:

1. Demographic diversity: This includes differences in race, ethnicity, gender, age, and sexual orientation. Having a team that reflects a variety of demographic backgrounds can bring different perspectives and ideas to the table.

2. Cognitive diversity: This refers to differences in how individuals think, problem-solve, and approach tasks. It can include differences in learning styles, personality types, and cognitive abilities.

3. Functional diversity: This involves differences in skills, expertise, and professional backgrounds. For example, a team with members who have diverse professional experiences and knowledge can bring a wide range of expertise to the team.

4. Experiential diversity: This includes differences in life experiences, cultural backgrounds, and personal histories. Having team members with diverse experiences can lead to a richer understanding of different perspectives and customer needs.

5. Communication diversity: This refers to differences in communication styles, language abilities, and non-verbal communication cues. A team with diverse communication styles can be more effective in reaching and engaging with a wider audience.

Overall, diversity in a team can lead to greater creativity, innovation, and problem-solving abilities. It can also improve decision-making and lead to better outcomes for the team and the organization as a whole. Embracing diversity can also create a more inclusive and welcoming work environment for all team members.

The manager of a restaurant supply company determined prices by adding a standard markup to her costs. What might the manager be missing when it comes to effective pricing decisions?

On May 10, 2024

Pricing should be based on the potential buyer's belief about its value. Some of the items offered by the restaurant supply company may have greater perceived value than other items.
